week 4

I found these past weeks to be an eye opener, for the career path that I have chosen. I see now that it isnt a bunch of easy work, it takes hard work and dedication. The part I found to be most challenging was being rudely rejected by people on the street and still having to maintain a professional composure. I think KTC for playing a major part in helping me persue what I beleive to be my future profession.
In conclusion, I feel that I learn from both my failures and succeeses. I want to keep learning as long as I can. the program was difficult at first but as time progressed I adapted and became comfortable with my surrounding enviornment and I was able to flourish.

week 3

I found professional developement day to be useful, especially because alot of the speakers were journalist themselves. Some of the information given I had already known but there was also information I recieved that was brand new. Also, some of the things i was told made me think about what kind of journalist I wanted to be. I found the whole day to productive and and exciting. i though it was cool, that they raffled off netbooks as an incentive for us to ask questions. All in all, i found the day to be productive and a learning experience for me as a journalist.

week 2 part 2

Maintaining my job and my personal project has been fairly easy considering I have no knowledge of a personal project. So my main goal was working to the best of my ability with Harlem Live. I have produced a fair amount of stories to feed the online world, I have filled the blogging world with distinct and unique views on topics from the sports world and in the world of international affairs. So, all in all I feel my job has been very easy because I am doing something that sparks my interest and that I love doing.

week 2

I feel that my job is an all day process; so this makes my job my number one priority. As a journalist i am always looking for fresh new stories and so i have multiple news streaming websites bookmarked on my phone. When i wake up in the morning i grab my phone and see what has happened in the sports world, financial world, and sometimes even fashion world. While im on the train ill grab the free news paper and see what information they have to offer me. Finally, the last part of my day consists of me going out and talking to people asking them their views on politics and the sports world.

Victor Liz Jr.

I believe that the hardest part of starting a new work enviornment is for a person to step out of his or her own comfort zone. I believe a persons ability to adapt is what determines whether or not he or she will succeed in the new work enviornment. My biggest challenge in starting this new job was meeting and working closely with a group of people i have never meet or seen before. This is where I feel adapting came into play, because as a person who does most of his activities solo, I had to work with a group of people who did not share the same views as myself.
So it was a situation where alot compromising into play. What helped me get through my first couple of days; I like to believe it was the fact that I am outgoing and try to make everyone feel comfortable. I also believe that because I can adapt to situation easily, this made my first couple of days in a new work enviornment fairly easy.
